The year of 2026 is already off to a strong start, with several important updates worth sharing.
We were excited to welcome Paul Smith as our Executive Vice President of Sales to start the year. While we recently shared the official announcement, it’s worth reiterating the tenure and perspective Paul brings to the team. His experience across the enterprise technology industry, paired with a practical, results driven mindset, aligns closely with how we approach growth, partnerships, and delivering TRUE AI that works in real environments.
This month also marked a successful NRF Retail’s Big Show in New York City. The conversations were direct, honest, and centered on outcomes that actually matter. Retail leaders are looking for technology that fits into their budget requirements, delivers measurable value, and scales without added complexity. The engagement reinforced what we continue to see across the market: demand is shifting toward smarter, self-learning intelligence that helps optimize operations without starting from scratch. In addition, as members of the National Retail Federation, we’re also looking ahead to attending and sponsoring NRF Protect in the Greater Dallas area this June. As security, operations, and risk continue to converge, this event remains an important forum for practical discussions around protecting people, assets, and data while keeping businesses moving.
No industry calendar is complete without ISC West, the flagship event of the year. We’re already preparing for Las Vegas, where many of the conversations shaping the future of security and intelligence take place. Keep an eye out for more details on our annual Soterix Social.
January is also a critical time for tax planning and budgeting. Organizations are making decisions now that will shape their technology roadmaps for the year ahead. Investing in software driven intelligence that extends the value of existing infrastructure continues to be a clear priority.
2026 is about momentum. We’re just getting started.
